Once I receive my tooth whitening kit, how do I use it to whiten my teeth?

Remove the rubber cap and place the application tip onto the syringe. NOTE: The tooth whitening gel syringe is marked with lines, and each line is good for one application to either the upper or lower arch. Thus for an application of both the upper and lower you would use two lines of tooth whitening gel.

FOR BEST RESULTS: Pat the teeth dry each time before whitening. Do not brush your teeth immediately before tooth whitening, as this may cause some discomfort and lessen the effectiveness of the home tooth whitening process. Do not eat, drink or smoke while whitening or for 30 minutes after.

• Place a small bead of tooth whitening gel in each tooth impression you wish to whiten of the custom   tray. Start by dispensing in back right area of the tray and work your way around the arch to the other side. Use the tooth whitening gel sparingly as a little goes a long way.
• Place the trays onto the teeth. Wipe off any excess tooth whitening gel. 
• For the initial whitening applications wear the trays for 30 to 45 minutes. To ensure you do not experience any sensitivity, remove the trays and rinse with water. Gradually build up to 60 minute application sessions as you feel comfortable. For 120 minute PowerWhitening, wear the trays for 60 minutes, remove and wipe teeth and trays with tissue, add fresh tooth whitening gel and wear for an additional 60 minutes. 
• After each use of the tooth whitening gel syringes, remove the application tip and replace the rubber cap to seal in the freshness of the gel.
• Store your trays and gel at room temperature in a place that does not receive direct light (such as a bathroom drawer). Do not freeze the tooth whitening gel. The shelf life of our tooth whitening gel, if stored properly, is approximately one and a half years.

How much tooth whitening gel is in each syringe?

Each syringe contains approximately 3 mL of tooth whitening gel. This is enough for at least 9-11 applications per syringe, depending on client preference.

How much tooth whitening gel do I use for each treatment?

You should place a small small bead of tooth whitening gel in the impression of each tooth you wish to whiten. Most people choose to whiten the 'appearance zone' (front 8 teeth in each arch). This bead does not need to be any larger than 2-3 mm in any dimension. If you use too much gel it will simply seep out of the tray so don't waste it!

How should I store the tooth whitening gel and what is the shelf-life?

We recommend storing the tooth whitening gel in a cool dark place. Perhaps a room temperature bathroom drawer. If stored in this way, the shelf-life of the whitening gel is approximately 1½ years.

Some people prefer to store the gel in their refrigerator. If you choose to do so you should keep the gel in a brown paper bag and allow the gel to cool to room temperature before applications. Cold gel can be irritating to the teeth. Storing the gel in the refrigerator has not been proven to increase shelf life.

What is the exact composition of the tooth whitening gel you use?

Water, Glycerin, Carbomer 940, Triethalanomine, Urea Peroxide, Carbamide Peroxide, Flavoring.
